We know that we regularly reach out to you for donations - The Toy Drive, Halloween Party costumes and the Mother's Day baskets etc. are all events that we work on with you. You may not realize what happens then.....
Well, recently on Channel 7 News, Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson presented a domestic violence survivor and her 6 children toys that we had donated to the Chicago Police Department from our recent Holiday reception. The mom had also attended the Children's Halloween Party with her children in October that we organized where many of you donated costumes, food and candy.
This woman had been shot 11 times by her abuser and managed to rise above it all. She now encourages other women to do the same if they are able. Her children had bright smiles as they opened your toys. It was truly a touching story.
